About us

the team at manifesting travel

Ashley & Zo

Before we go into pointless, surface-level quirks like Alonzo is an award-winning, nationally-published southpaw photographer and Vegas native and Ashley is a nationally-published Cuban-American writer with a freckle between her toes, we’d rather tell you why we created this site and community.

We’re a husband and wife team who worked our butts off to achieve the “American Dream.” We graduated, got good jobs, got married and saved for our first home, had our first child, yada yada yada. We did everything we thought we were supposed to do to “make it” in the U.S., but we were still restless and still searching for something. We didn’t know what that “something” was, but we knew we found it when we traveled. Sound familiar?

We worked long hours, hoarding our vacation time so we could spend a few blissful weeks indulging and exploring overseas. Like most Americans, we’d cram so much into our annual vacations that we came home feeling more worn out. Our travels became about seeing as much as possible, so we could come back later and spend more time. Guess what. “Later” was a lie we told ourselves so we could quietly ignore that something was very wrong with our ideologies. That’s how Manifesting Travel was born.

We knew we couldn’t be alone; that there must be others searching for a human connection or a moment of clarity in the unfamiliar. Others, like us, who were willing to travel to the ends of the earth to find themselves and more meaning in their lives. Manifesting Travel is about collecting meaningful travel experiences from all over the world that make you feel good and help you create a life you want to have, while empowering you to become the person you want to be. It’s a place to share experiences that really moved us and made an impact in our lives. With each new destination, we learned more and more about ourselves and know you will too.

We are in constant pursuit of a full and meaningful life. We want to see each and every inch of this planet, to gain a better understanding of its wonders, its people and how we’re all connected. We want to feel life and let it consume us. We want our travels to touch us so deeply they change us. And chances are, you do too.

If you’ve ever felt numb about your life, like you're alive but not really living, you know exactly what we’re talking about. You want to feel something that moves and inspires you, that reignites passions you forgot you had. You're looking for a real human connection again. And that’s why we’re here, to connect people with experiences that actually mean something.

Travel talk

Now that you've learned about the team behind Manifesting Travel, let's get into more of the reasons we started this community. Our Travel Talk series is designed to explore the "why" behind travel, not just the where. If you sometimes feel overworked, undervalued and unfulfilled, this is where you'll find the tools to use travel experiences as a form of self-care.
